PLANNING MATTERS ALLIANCE TASMANIA - 6 July 2017

PMAT - PLANTFORM

The Planning Matters Alliance Tasmania (PMAT) is a growing network of over 40 community groups from across Tasmania.

The PMAT is united with a common concern over the weakening of the state’s planning rules. The Tasmanian Planning Scheme is set to come into effect in early 2018 and PMAT is committed to making it better.

The level of collaboration and solidarity emerging within this planning campaign and the groups involved is unprecedented in Tasmania and crosses community group genres.

The groups, including ratepayer associations, social services and environment groups and local community constituencies are banding together as the Planning Matters Alliance Tasmania (PMAT). As part of launching, PMAT has release its Platform Statement, a vision for how planning should be conducted in Tasmania.

Friends of the East Coast Inc

Friends of the East Coast Inc has been set up to inform the community on planning issues impacting on the East Coast of Tasmania.  In recent years there has been increasing pressure to develop this coast by piecemeal sub-division.  Friends of the East Coast Inc has evolved in response to community concerns that their voices need to be heard by local councils and the State Government.
